Background
SoCha is preparing a proposal in response to a solicitation released by UNDP, to provide independent third-party verification and monitoring services, data collection and analysis, to carry out timely, targeted and detailed monitoring, evaluation and reporting on UNDP interventions and those implemented by its partners, in the 14 governorates in Syria. To support this Third-Party Monitoring (TPM) effort, SoCha is seeking to recruit a Data Analyst.
Period of Performance
The contract is expected to commence on July 1, 2025, with a planned duration of one year.
Scope of Work
- Support in the design and validation of data collection tools and ensure alignment with TPM objectives and UNDP indicators.
- Manage and clean data collected from field monitors, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
- Perform detailed statistical analysis of both quantitative and qualitative data to assess project performance, identify trends, and support evidence-based recommendations.
- Contribute to the drafting of performance, trend analysis, and impact monitoring reports by providing accurate data visualizations, summaries, and interpretations.
- Develop and maintain a secure and organized database of all monitoring data, disaggregated by key variables.
- Support the Quality Assurance Officer and Team Leader in ensuring the technical accuracy of all submitted reports.
- Train and support field staff on digital tools, data collection protocols, and quality assurance processes.
- Collaborate with the M&E team to ensure alignment with monitoring frameworks and data requirements.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Master’s degree in statistics, mathematics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-years’ experience in data collection, processing, analysis and management, development of research instruments, and statistical analysis.
- At least 3 years of experience performing quality assurance procedures in data collection and analysis.
- Proven experience in the development and use of research instruments for quantitative and qualitative data.
- Proficiency in at least one statistical software package (e.g., SPSS, Stata, R, or similar).
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills in English and Arabic, both written and spoken.
- Experience in working with Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), women, and vulnerable populations, familiarity with the key issues in each governorate.
- Be willing and able to travel to project sites in all governorates as needed.
- Display professionalism, respect, cultural and gender sensitivity while engaging with national and local counterparts and UNDP.
- Ability to produce technically sound, well-written reports in English.
- Fluency in both Arabic and English (spoken and written).
